Project
I'm a fan of the freedom offered by Zelda 1, where you're dropped into a map full of monsters with only one piece of advice: "It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!"
Despite its difficulty, I love the technical and precise gameplay of Zelda 2. Unfortunately, too few games have built upon what Zelda 2 achieved at the time.
Like many others, I was captivated by Zelda: Breath of the Wild, particularly by its climbing-based movement system, which offers great freedom of exploration. I decided to combine the structure of Zelda 1, the gameplay of Zelda 2, and the freedom of movement from Breath of the Wild, mixing them together in my own way in this game, which I hope you'll enjoy!

I was feeling nostalgic today and wanted to play those old Paulok fangames that you made a while back (I was obsessed with them during the pandemic lmao) and when I saw that you were promoting a new game of yours (well, a "new" game announced a year ago that is, I am REALLY late to the party on that one), I immediately went to check it. I wasn't expecting much at first but after playing this demo, I must say that I was blown away by it ! You can tell that this is your passion project, and while it is a bit simple, it sure is damn charming game !
The Gameboy style fits really well and, for once, it doesn't feel like a random "#soretro" game in black and white, everything from the character desing to the music (I especially loved when Winter by Vivaldi played during the boss fight ^^) remind me of real Gameboy games. Form the the game's description, you seemed to have been inspired by Zelda II but it's also close to a Metroid II imo (the Gameboy aesthetic might help on that) and it honestly blend well together. The 16:9 aspect is pretyy sweet I must say, for those who would want a more "authentic" experience, there is a 4:3 ratio though I haven't played with it turned on so I can't really tell but it seems that the game works fine with it as well.
Overall, this was a really great demo and I am looking forward to see the full game as soon as it released, I already put it in my Steam's wishlist ! It's amazing to see how far you've came since your first games in th Godot engine, I hope that your game will find the public that it definitively needs !
PS : J’aurais bien aimé faire un Paulok 3 si KYU N’AVAIT PAS ÉTOUFFÉ PAULOK AVEC SON GROS CUL AAAAHHHH POURQUOI Y’A PLUS DE VIDÉO !!!!!!!
I just played the demo today and was already sold on the game. The gameplay and movement system is overall very sold! I love the different attack options you have integrated, such as the ability to attack upwards and crouching and even the iconic down thrustfrom Zelda 2. I also like how the hovering mechanic is integrated into how the player can allow the player to either hover safely or instantly cancel into a fast fall as they are landing. Honestly, there is a lot more that I can say about how I have enjoyed this game so far. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for your comment! The development is progressing well (•ө• )
I hope it would be completed. Good luck 🥰
Thank you for your comment! Development is still ongoing and progressing well (•ө• )
walk east simulator :-)
I hope it's a good walking simulator :'(
Great polish on this! Good game design, introducing players to challenges one at a time, and I like how the experience points are gathered not always from enemies, but are placed generally in a challenging area, that's a really cool idea! Cool and well paced project!
I thank you for your wonderful comment! Glad that you like the project (•ө• )
